A new section has been created in my blog; music from various countries. I can't understand why, but for me, the music of a country plays an important role to convince me to visit it. Due to my last trip in France, I find it necessary to transmit you my feelings and the whole french scenery, so get started for day dreaming...(listen to the songs while reading to the rest of my article).
What do I imagine when I'm listening to that kind of music? I feel like I live in the 1920s or even in the 1950s... I'm walking in the little picturesque streets in Paris, I'm joining parties with popular painters and writers, I' m being dressed in these simple (but amazing) dresses (called vintage nowadays), and jewellery.
On the other hand, I could be in Southern France, you know, being surrounded by lavenders and beaches with huge waves. I find it more suitable, for such places, to listen to George Brassens or the traditional songs that we all know... Sur le pont d' Avignon, l'on y danse, l'on y danse...
The first song is certainly well-known for the feelings that causes you, but the second one is alternatively giving you another aspect of France (even if you don't know is Georges Brassens). Imagine being at the beach with friends and wearing these ''itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini'' of the 1960s. You get out of the sea and you are really hungry. Guess what is coming next...A delicious crêpe from one of the many cantinas that are nearby.
I might share my thoughts with you when I'm listening to french music, but if you do the same thing on your own and try to create YOUR thoughts, that would be much better. Right?
