It is true guys! For every teen traveller from 13 years old (and adult), there is this program in plenty Spanish cities and it gives you the opportunity to experience 2 amzing weeks by making friends from Spain and of course from all over the world.
This is the procedure that you must follow:
This is the procedure that you must follow:
- choose one of the 15 destinations that the camp provides in 2016
- have a basic certificate in English (Advanced)
- complete the online application form
- be accepted (if you are a boy they will accept you 100%, because they need boys!)
- book the air-tickets
- arrange the Welcome and Departure Packs
I will try to share my (online) experience with you and I will be mainly be talking about teenagers.
Let's take it from the top:
First, you have to choose the exact dates that you are available and the destination. The dates are from 3 July to 30 July and if you take a look at the next document you can find the information that you are asking for in detail. The cities or villages that you can choose are almost in the entire Spain, some of them are; Salamanca, Cadiz, Teruel, Granada, Cordoba. You can find more details here.

The second part consists of the personality that you have built, in order to convince them that you are the person that they are looking for this project. You must speak English, but also the most important rule is not to speak Spanish at all. This is the main reason why the camp is free (!); because you are kind of a ''volunteer'' and what you have to do is help your future Spanish friends practice their English. Moreover, you must have experiences, adventures and stories to share with your friends and the camp can support you in this thing by creating many activities... Last but not least, keep in your mind that there are some strict rules about electronics: cell phones, tablets and laptops can only be used from 15.00 to 16.00 (your free time).
After having realised what the camp requires from you and forbids and you still want to take part in it, you must complete the online application. My tip here is to describe your life as much detailed as you can. In one section of the form (Profile Information), you must write in a way that you will show what you know in English and of course show what a busy life you have. Don't be afraid of telling too much!!!
The next stage is to be accepted. As I mentioned above, if you are a boy that makes you lucky, because there is a lack of boys in some of the camps and the coordinators have told us to invite whoever we know. This happens, because in your room you have a Spanish roommate in the same age and gender with you. Apparently, there are more Spanish guys than foreign and BOYS ARE WANTED. Briefly, if you are a boy (or a girl) and want to change your summer routine with a Spanish mountain or playa for 2 weeks with less than 400 euros (for EU citizens, because these are you air-tickets your main cost) APPLY NOW!

Finally, it wouldn't be fair to travel to Madrid and don't see the city. Pueblo Ingles had thought about that too! The participants must arrive, the day before that camp begins, in Madrid and they will have the chance to spend a day in the capital of Spain and do a lot of ice breaking activities. There is a Welcome Pack that costs 95 euros and it includes;
Of course, there is a Departure Pack as well that begins the last day of the camp and it's over when the participants are transported to the airport. This package costs 75 euros if you attend the following program or it's free only for your transportation with the bus from the camp to Madrid or the airport (for night flights).
With a minimum cost, for the Europe citizens this would be 400 euros (because I include the air tickets), you can live 16 days in Spain alternatively. And the most important? You will leave the camp with dozens of new friends from all over the world, feeling that the world is too small and that you HAVE the time to travel everywhere.
* I was planning to write this article in late July when I would have returned from Spain, but as long as the coordinators are begging us to invite people, especially boys, I decided to upload it now and then there will be an extra article with my experience*
- pick up from the airport, the train station or the bus station
- Lunch (probably a picnic)
- Tour in Madrid
- Activities in the hotel
- Dinner
- Stay in the hotel for the night (you cohabit with a Spanish person in the same gender with you)
- Breakfast
- Transportation with a bus to the camp that you had chosen
