As you are getting older and older, you learn how to live (and travel?) on your own. It would be really helpful to start travelling while you are young and you are still protected by your parents and financially aided as well. From the age of 13 to 25 years old, there is a bunch of offers to travel in a cheap and protected way. That's why I am here; to suggest you some ideas to bear in mind and not let them go. It is amazing to gain experience from a young age...
1. Student Exchanging Program
1. Student Exchanging Program
As you may already know, this program mainly refers to students, who have the chance to live with a local family for a short period of time (from 1 week to 6 months or more) and they have to go to the same school in which one person of the family goes. Optionally some months later the same person can come in your country and ask you for hosting.
It is better to choose a country that you can certainly speak its language and of course that you would like to visit or even live there. Don't forget: your choices are unlimited!!! You should start the procedure of applying as early as you can, in order to start communicating with your future ''roommate'' and start building a friendship.

2. School Trips
Schools usually organise some trips either in their own country or abroad. The total cost is quite low as you travel with a group and it is really worthy to go. Participate in many clubs that your school has and you can travel even more for sure. Personally, I have been in many greek cities due to this thing.
3. Competitions
It is similar to the previous category, as long as it has to do with education. You see, many trips have to do with our education...My top ones?

Of course a trip can come up from anything you are doing right now.
4. International Summer Camp
4. International Summer Camp
I believe that it's an amazingly interesting way to learn and gain experiences without your parents, but this time with the protection of a college or a university. Especially in the U.S., there is such a variety of activities that can leave you speechless. From learning a new language to practising a sport or everything you might possibly have in your mind!!! For more information click here, to read about my last experience in France.
5. Volunteering
You have the chance to HELP people that are really in need or to HELP in building houses or even HELP for a coastal cleaning day. All the above-mentioned examples are called volunteering.Personally, I enjoy helping little children and teach them whatever I know and generally play with them. You must surely have in your mind Africa (I do as well), but offering exists everywhere. Even in your city!
6. Alternative methods
Obviously, airplanes are not the only means of transportation, but there are also trains, cars etc. Let's focus on trains: When you finally become an adult, you can travel the whole Europe at a small cost (390 euros) for 1 month. This train is called Eurail and it's a top choice for young travellers and students. I am looking forward to living such a thing...
